A. Internet Banking allows you to access your JS Bank current, savings and other accounts securely over the internet and provides you 24/7 banking access. [Top]

A. JS Internet banking is aimed at providing banking facilities with ease and comfort of sitting at home. Below is the list of facilities provided to JS Bank's customers:

 

Account Information

  • View account balance summary

Q. Are there any additional fees charged for being a JS Bank Internet Banking user?

A. No. At present JS Bank Internet Banking is free of charge and you only need to be a JS Bank Customer in order to use Internet Banking, Charges in future can be introduced as per the introduction of new features and services. [Top]

A. You can Log In to Internet Banking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you ever need help, you will find the Internet Banking helpdesk always available on UAN: 0800-01122. [Top]

A. Internet Banking allows you to access your JS Bank Current, Saving, Loan and TDR accounts online. [Top]

Q. Do I Need to be a JS Bank customer to use Internet Banking?

A. Yes, In order to use Internet Banking you will need to have an active JS Bank VISA Debit Card and a registered e-mail address. For details, call at our 24/7 Contact Center Number: 0800-01122. [Top]

Q. How do I register for Internet Banking?

A. You can register in the following ways:

  • Firstly, you will have to provide your e-mail address, through either calling at Contact Center 0800-01122 or by filling in form at your nearest JS Bank branch.
  • Secondly, open JS Bank IB website and click on Register Now link and follow steps of online registration for IB.

Q. What should I do when accessing for the first time?

A. Once registered, you can enter your user ID and password to log in to JS Internet Banking website. Make sure that you have the recommended hardware and software. Also make sure that you register online and validate your user ID and password, without which you would be unable to log in. [Top]

Q. What if I forget my password or username or both before successfully logging in?

A. In case you forget either your user ID or password before successfully logging in for the first time, you will have to call our Contact Center at 0800 01122 for user ID information and/or password change.[Top]

Q. What if I forget my password or username or both after successfully logging in?

A. In case you forget your username, password or both after successfully logging in at least once, you need to call the 24/7 Contact Center 0800-01122.It is advised that after receiving your username, password or both, the same should be used immediately and changed for security reasons. [ [Top]

Q. I cannot enter password correctly?

A. In case of entering password incorrectly, you need to first write down the password on a piece of paper (securely) and than only enter those characters that are asked. Make sure you discard that paper containing your password or erase your password. [Top]

Q. What is a secret question?

A. You will be asked to choose and answer three secret questions at registration. In case of a forgotten password, you will be asked two of these three secret questions at random. The corresponding secret answer must be correctly entered to log in to the application. [Top]

Q. What is FPIN and why I need to generate FPIN?

A. FPIN is a financial PIN which must be entered when executing certain transactions, including all financial transactions. You can submit an FPIN generation request once you are an Internet Banking user and it will be communicated to you through e-mail. You need to generate FPIN to securely conduct your financial transactions. [Top]

Q. How to generate FPIN?

A. You can generate your FPIN by clicking on the Internet Banking Security Options and selecting FPIN. In this window you can generate new FPIN all you have to do is specify the FPIN expiry period. [Top]

Q. How to get my existing FPIN expired?

A. If you want your FPIN to get expired before the expiry period already specified in time of FPIN generation. You will have to go to Internet Banking Security Options and select Expire FPIN option, by clicking on the Expire button your existing FPIN will be expired. [Top]

Q. How do I download my statement for use in a spreadsheet like excel or Portable Document Format?

A. To download a statement for use in a spreadsheet or PDF file, simply select 'Mini Statement' or 'Full Statement' from the My Accounts tab on the left hand side. From here you can select the appropriate account, format and date range, view the statement then click on Excel or PDF for download in that format or click Printer Friendly to print immediately. Q. What is activity log?

A. Activity log enable you to keep track of all the activities you have performed on JS Bank Internet Banking. You can view the activities for specified period of time. [Top]

Q. Can I subscribe for SMS alerts online?

A. Certainly, you can subscribe for SMS alerts of all of your transactions using our Internet Banking facility. In order to do so, you will have to click on the Services Subscription link on the left side of your account window, select SMS Alerts / Subscription link and provide your details e.g. account number and mobile number. VISA Debit Card Services

Q. What if my VISA Debit card is blocked, can I register online using my VISA Debit card?

A. No, once your card is blocked you cannot register online using your ATM/Debit card. In that case, you will have to contact JS Bank Contact centre 0800 01122 and get your card unblocked. [Top]

Q. Can I change the status of my VISA Debit card through Internet Banking account?

A.Yes, you can change the status of your VISA debit card online. Cards can be in one of the following statuses at any given moment:

  • Warm (Inactive)
  • Hot (Permanently blocked)

Internet Banking allows you to change your card status from Cold to Warm, and Warm to Hot. However, you cannot activate your card online. Your card status cannot be changed if the card is marked Hot. [Top]

Q. Can I view my VISA Debit card transaction details through my Internet Banking account?

Funds Transfer Services

Q. Is there a maximum limit on the amount of funds I can transfer?

A. Yes, the limit for IFT (Internal Funds Transfer) is Rs. 100,000 single and maximum limit is Rs. 250,000. However, the limit for IBFT (Inter Bank Funds Transfer) is Rs. 100,000 single and Rs. 250,000 maximum limit. [Top]

Q. Can I transfer funds to other bank accounts through JS Bank's Internet Banking?

A. Yes, you can transfer funds to your own account within JS Bank, or in another bank. Additionally, you can transfer funds to another beneficiary account within or outside JS Bank. All these options are conveniently available on your Internet Banking profile. [Top]

Q. What is Standing Instruction?

A. The Standing Instruction facility enables you to schedule your transactions in advance for a specified date. With this feature of JS Bank you can schedule your Internal Funds transfer request and Inter Bank Fund transfer (IBFT) transactions. [Top]

 

Utility Bill Payment

Q. Can I pay my bills online?

A. Yes, through JS Bank Internet Banking Utility bill payment service, you can initiate an online transaction to pay the following types of bills: Utility bills (electricity, gas, etc.) Mobile bills (prepaid, postpaid). [Top]

Q. How long will it take to credit my bill at the billing company after I have paid online?

A. Normally, it takes not more than few minutes to credit your bill at the billing company after you have paid online. In some cases it might take 30 minutes to 1 hour to credit your bill. [Top]

Q. Can I make after due date payments through Internet Banking?

A. No, you cannot make after due date utility bill payments through Internet Banking. [Top]

Q. How do I register the utility company for bill payment?

A. Registering your utility company is an easy process through JS Bank Internet Banking, log in to Internet Banking open Bill Payment option select Bill Registration and provide utility company details and click on Register, your utility company will be registered. [Top]

Q. Can I pay someone else's utility bill?

A. Yes, you can pay bill of your family member or friend by just providing consumer number and utility company on Internet Banking. [Top]

Q. What must I do to protect my personal details and how can I ensure that no one else has access to my account(s)?

A. Access to your personal and account details, is controlled via the login process. It is therefore essential that you do not divulge or write down your user ID or password. Take great care when logging in. You must change your password in case of suspicion or you can contact our Contact Center immediately at 0800 01122. [Top]

Q. What must I do if I receive an email asking for my confidential information?

A. JS Bank Customer Support will never send emails that ask for confidential information. If you receive an email requesting your Internet Banking security details, you should not respond. Please forward it to us at [email protected]. If you are concerned that you may have divulged your security details please contact us on UAN: 0800-01122. [Top]

Q. How do you verify I am the account holder when I phone the Contact Center?

A. We at JS Bank take the security of your personal and transaction details very seriously. When calling the Contact Center, you will be verified by your response to random questions about your personal information by the Contact Center officer. [Top]

Q. How do I know that Internet Banking is secure?

A. We have developed Internet Banking based on the latest technology employing multiple levels of security. This includes: 128-bit encryption technology, known as SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), which is currently the most secure in the industry; customer user ID, password deactivation after three unsuccessful tries and automatic logout after a defined period of inactivity are some of the security features. We are committed to ensuring that the service we offer is fully secure. [Top]

Q. What is Encryption?

A. Encryption allows information to travel between you and JS Bank in a secure environment that cannot be read by anyone else. It is a way of 'scrambling' information to make it impossible to read unless the recipient has the ability to 'un-scramble' it. [Top]

Q. What level of Encryption do you use?

A. The strength of encryption can be measured by the number of 'bits' used in the 'scrambling' process. The latest web browsers use 128-bit encryption: the most secure form currently available. Internet Banking can only be accessed using 128-bit encryption. [Top]

Q. What is the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)?

A. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is an Internet security standard that ensures all information transmitted between your browser and Internet Banking is encrypted. 128-bit SSL is supported by all major browsers, Microsoft Internet Explorer v4.01 or above, Netscape Navigator v4.08 or above. We recommend you use the latest 'supported' (i.e not beta) manufacturer browser with any security patches. [Top]

Q. Does Internet Banking use Cookies?

A. Internet Banking uses temporary cookies to enable our site to work efficiently. Cookies are small pieces of data which we store within your browser to allow us to see where you are within the site. These are deleted at the end of your session. [Top]

Q. Is it safe to conduct Internet banking transaction from internet cafe?

A. We highly advise you to take precaution when conducting transaction from public PC. Generally, public PCs are vulnerable to virus attack and various simple programs unintentionally downloaded. There is a risk that these programs were designed to read any keystrokes you make (including your Relationship No and Password) and will automatically send the stolen information to the program owner who would take the benefit. Q. What is the minimum computer specification for using Internet Banking?

A. To use Internet Banking you will need a PC which offers the following as a minimum: IBM compatible PC running Microsoft Windows operating system 95, 98, Me, 2000, NT4.0 or an Apple Macintosh running OS7 or above. Pentium or equivalent processor and 32MB RAM. 16 bit high color graphics. A modem (the faster the better), Access to the Internet through an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Local Area Network (LAN). [Top]

Q. What software do I need to use Internet Banking?

A. To comply with our security requirements you will need the following software to access Internet Banking. Operating system: Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, NT4.0, XP or an Apple Macintosh running OS7 or above. System Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer v4.01 or above/Netscape Navigator v4.08 or above. If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer you can check the version by starting Microsoft Internet Explorer and clicking 'Help' on the browser options at the top of the screen followed by 'About Microsoft Internet Explorer'. A pop up window will display the version. You can download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer by logging onto to www.microsoft.com. If you're using Netscape Navigator/Communicator you can check the version by starting Netscape Navigator/Communicator and clicking on 'Help' on the browser options at the top of the screen followed by ' About Navigator/Communicator'. This will display a page with the version number. You can download the latest version of Netscape Navigator/Communicator by logging onto www.netscape.com. [Top]

Q. What screen resolution should I use?

A. Internet Banking is designed for a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels or above. To check or alter your current resolution, please refer to your PC user manual. [Top]

Q. Can I access Internet Banking if I am behind a corporate firewall?

A. Companies who operate a corporate firewall may not permit access to all sites. You should consult with your Local Area Network (LAN) Administrator if you are unable to access Internet Banking. [Top]
